Site Directions: From I-81, take Exit 74A, pass by Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Continue on toward Bristol. At the 2nd red light (CVS will be on your right), turn right onto Highway 126. Travel for 1 mile, turn left onto Steele Creek Park Drive. Travel for 0.3 miles and turn right, cross the bridge onto Steele Creek Park Road. Travel 0.3 miles, the park gate will be on your left.

Site Description: The park is mostly forested with a trail going around a 53 acre lake. The forests are upland hardwood forests with lush understory, providing habitat for many forest birds and other wildlife.

Wildlife to Watch: Forest birding is excellent in spring through fall. Breeding Acadian Flycatchers, Worm-eating Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and Scarlet and Summer Tanager are highlights of the Neotropical migratory birds nesting on site. In fall and winter, waterfowl such as Mallard, Gadwall, and Pied-billed Grebe may be seen on the lake, while Wood Duck nest in spring and summer. Green Herons breed in the area and Great Blue Herons can be seen year round. Spring wildflowers abound with trillium and turk's-cap lily.
