Natchez Trace Parkway

Site Directions: The 102 mile section of the parkway in Tennessee starts west of Nashville at Hwy 100, near the Loveless Café. The well marked, paved road has several viewing areas and marked historic sites.

Site Description: The Trace travels through rolling hills, pasture land, and forests of south-central Tennessee. Many viewing areas and marked historic sites provide many opportunities to see a variety of wildlife, scenery, and learn about the history of the region.

Wildlife to Watch: While driving the Trace, be on the look out for white-tailed deer, Wild Turkey, Eastern Bluebird, and various woodpeckers. American Kestrels may be present, while Loggerhead Shrikes are a rare find. In spring and fall migration, passerine migrants are abundant and one can find Black-throated Green Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Yellow Warbler, and possible Cerulean Warbler.
