Site Directions: From I-240 in East Memphis, take exit 15 (Poplar Avenue). Go east on Poplar to Ridgeway Road (appx. 0.6 mile). Turn right (south) onto Ridgeway Road and go about 1.2 miles to Quince Road. Turn right (west) and follow Quince Road about 0.5 mile to the Nature Center entrance (on right or north side of Quince Road).

Site Description: The site is a 65 acre island of forest in urbanized East Memphis. It contains some mature upland hardwood forest with a number of very large trees. Understory and ground cover is abundant with buckeye being common. Spring wildflowers are abundant (e.g. VA Bluebell, violets, May Apple, etc.). Forest birds are abundant and some aquatic or wetland species occur around ponds present on the site.

Wildlife to Watch:
Site is a great place to go birding within a major metropolitan area without having to travel very far. Mississippi Kites occur in spring and summer. Belted Kingfishers can be seen foraging on ponds and wetlands while frogs and turtles abound.
