Tigrett WMA
Along the North Fork Forked Deer River SE of Dyersburg, Dyer County, TN
Site Directions: From Dyersburg, TN take TN Highway 104 east to U.S. Highway 412. At Highway 412, turn right (south) and go about 1.5 miles to Beaver Road. Turn left (east) onto Beaver Road. The area lies to the south of Beaver Road and may be accessed by several all weather gravel roads that branch off of Beaver Road. Look for Wildlife Management Area signs at some locations.

Site Description: The area consists of 7,000 acres of early and late successional bottomland forest areas with some swamps and open bodies of water. Road access into the interior of the area is limited but foot trails and water bodies can be used to explore the interior.

Wildlife to Watch: The forest and swamps of the area provide some excellent habitat for woodland birds. Prothonotary Warblers are common breeding birds in summer.

Site History: The North Fork Forked Deer River was channelized in the past and the main river flow no longer follows its original channel.
