Eagle Lake Refuge
Approximately 8 miles NW of downtown Memphis
Shelby County, TN
Site Directions: Take TN highway 388 north of Memphis. Go north to Robertson Road. Turn left (west) onto Robertson Road and go approximately 1 mile to Benjestown Road. Turn left onto Benjestown Road and go south about 1.2 miles. Look for a sign on Benjestown Road pointing the way to a side road leading west to the refuge. Follow this side road about a mile to its end.

Hours: 9 to 4 on non-hunt days, but closed to all entrance from November 15 to last day of February.
Seasonality All year, but waterfowl viewing best in winter.

Site Description: Area is mostly cleared Mississippi River floodplain partitioned into water management units. A small amount of forested bluffland occurs on this 3,253 acre refuge.

Wildlife to Watch: A good site for viewing waterfowl, wading birds, and shorebirds depending upon water levels and time of year. Mississippi Kites may be seen in summer. Bald Eagles are seen year round. The bluff hills can be great for migrant songbirds in spring and fall.

NOTE: Please refer to TWRA Hunting Guide about hunting seasons and public access dates. Eagle Lake Refuge is closed to all entrance from November 15 to last day of February.
